These evocative songs reflect a nation’s journey through the Great War, from optimism to despair and ultimately grief. Poetry by the most famous war poets – Owen, Sassoon, McCrae and others – is set to poignant music accessible to singers of a beginner to intermediate standard. The first songs were premiered in 2015 with further songs commissioned for the ‘Pity of War’ concert, alongside a new work by Bob Chilcott.
Caz has also composed a number of songs suitable for school or community choir. Her Christmas carols have been performed by the Westbury-On-Trym Parish Church Choir with David Ogden, and in Redmaids' High School, Bristol.
